As CEO of Exponential, Co-Founding Pastor of Community Christian Church, and the founding visionary of NewThing, Ferguson has become one of the defining practitioner voices in the North American church-multiplication movement. His work is distinguished by a rare integration of local pastoral depth — he co-founded a single church in 1989 and watched it become a multi-site community of thousands — with global apostolic ambition: the NewThing network grew to nearly 1,700 church-planting networks in 47 countries by 2022 before merging with Exponential in 2025.
